Spare Time
Glass is addictive.
It opens an endless possibility of shapes, sizes and colors. In your own little universe, you can create whatever you can imagine. The only limits besides your imagination are size and cost.
We spend a lot of time in the studio and sometimes between orders we make other things besides knobs and pulls.
This is one example. The pendant pictured here is a palm tree drawn from glass on top of a multi-layered background of blues, whites and browns hopefully invoking a sea side.
The background is built through multiple firings to give it depth and texture in much the same way that a painting may have many coats of paint. It is then cut and polished.
